Well we got the Wall of DVDs organised finally. The categories are: Documentary, Music and Musicals, Comedy, Action, Exploitation and Erotica, SF & Fantasy and Horror. Everything's in neat alpha order from Alvin Purple to Zatoichi. With a little luck they'll stay that way.

My laptop spat the dummy today. I'd been frigging around with Partition Magic to remove the hard disk partition which had Mandrake Linux on it and I think I may have done something catastrophic to the bootloader. So today, I cranked up the machine and got a whole bunch of 9s on the screen. At first I thought virus, then remembered Partition Magic, so I reloaded the Linux onto a small partition (four gig) that I created for the purpose, and voila! (yeah, French people do say voila! at the merest opportunity. I had a hotel clerk and a waiter at the Jardin Notre Dame say it to me last year) anyway, voila! the thing works again. Only my optical mouse isn't being recognised by Windows. Linux yeah, but not windows. Merde.

The other DVD category is Drama, by the way, for the serious stuff like Fellini movies, 1960s Dirk Bogarde movies, David Mamet flicks (except State and Main which is a wry comedy) and Secretary, which I was tempted to put into erotica, but didn't.
Music:: Scott Walker - Jackie
