Well to solve the laptop mouse problem I went to the extreme solution and reformatted the hard-disk while we were across town at Sal's parents place. I made the mistake of doing some of the backup onto DVD, which for some reason didn't work. Of course, I only discovered this after the reformatting, so I'm now trying to re-input my Firefox bookmarks from memory and making electric blue, brightly flashing mental notes to only use CDs for backup next time. It did fix the mouse problem and a reformat was due, anyway.
On another negative side - we had prawn cutlets for entree at dinner over at Sal's parents, and after dins her mother became very itchy. We left around 9.0 and soon after getting home (the trip takes about an hour) Peter phoned us to say that Annette (Sal's mum) is in hospital with a severe allergic reaction to prawns. She's on drips and antihistamines and something was mentioned about steroids. The prognosis is good, but not having those Xmas time pig-outs on crayfish and prawns is going to piss her off mightily. I hope I never get a seafood allergy, or a coffee allergy or an allergy to hot salami sticks or Bombay Sapphire Gin. But it is very ironic that an allergic reaction to shellfish turns you as red as a cooked lobster.
So the program for today is to head to the gym for my twice to three times a week torture session, head to the shops to buy bread rolls for lunch and make a concerted effort to forget that tomorrow is Monday
