Just finished hooking up the new TV set we acquired at Harvey Norman. It's a 66 cm widescreen one, not plasma but old fashioned cathode ray. The picture quality is great and even Foxtel looks much better. Hurray! Quality DVD viewing at last. We also got ourselves a digital video camera that does high quality still shots too. This all blows our Xmas bonuses of course, but we needed the telly and wanted the camcorder, so we got them.
Last night I watched the first disk of Martin Scorsese's "My Voyage To Italy" which covers post-WWII Italian cinema up to the mid-fifties. This is cinemaphile porn of the best sort. An over-view of Italian neo-realist cinema, Scorsese' personal observations and another list of movies to see when I get the chance. It was all so ser-con that I'm in the mood for something lighter tonight. Not sure what. Maybe an old Sean Connery Bond film.
