Well I went to the surgeon, he looked at the ganglion cyst and decided that it was probably better not to cut. So I'm investing in a wrist brace for a while and if it comes up again, I'm going to have it ultrasounded, aspirated and injected with hormones. Surgery is always a last option and with a ten percent chance of some kind of nerve damage, it's best to try something else. He even bulk-billed the consultation. :)
Nonetheless, I'm taking the week off work to chill out and give the wrist a little bit of a rest from working. So it's seven days of peace and quiet, watching Series 1 of Deadwood, going to the gym, bike riding and in general grokking spring in fullness. The jasmine I planted along the back fence is in bloom and mangoes are starting to appear in the fruit shops. Might even go up to Starbucks for a large Americano or two while I'm off.
Also, it looks like Daniel Craig is the new James Bond after Clive Owen knocked back the gig. Interesting choice. Maybe he'll get some rhinoplasty for his broken nose and a little bit of hair dye for his blond locks. He looks more like Willie Garvin than 007, but I'll give the guy a chance. Here's what Bond should look like according to Ian Fleming. BTW, Bond is 85 years old this year. Born in 1920.
