Sal and I are in the process of buying a) a new car b) a car port and c) a pergola/verandah for the back of the house. Getting quotes, learning the hassles of council permission to put stuff on your own property, listening to the high-pressure tactics of car salespeople... Hopefully by next weekend we can get the building decisions made and then we only have to worry about a new economical car with a much smaller carbon footprint than the '92 Falcon we currently drive.

Or maybe we buy roller blades for the 30 kms commute to work and piss the money away on a once in a lifetime meal schmoozing with Ferran AdriĆ  at El Bulli. (Well, I can dream, can't I? I'd even settle for The French Laundry)

BTW, the sharity music I like at the moment is here Peter Thomas' music from the Jerry Cotton movies, the German SF TV series Raumpatroille and other stuff. Weird and wonderful sounds.

Spent some of Saturday night at a party for Roman O, at Bev and Malcolm's place in the wilds of Wheeler's Hill. Nice group of people and the mosquitos weren't ravenously hungry. Low key and very pleasant chatting around the barbecue.
Music:: Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra - Lancet Bossanova (from "Raumpatrouille")
Mood:: 'cheerful' cheerful
