Here's what Sunday is like here in and around Notre Taudis, using today as an example.

I get up some time between seven and eight while [livejournal.com profile] queen_nephthys sleeps in. I surf the web for a while, make myself breakfast and brew up some coffee in my Italian stove top espresso maker which I sip from my big old Starbucks stainless steel cup. Time to watch The Insiders to hiss at Andrew Bolt and admire Barrie Cassidy's rough head. (Only the ABC would put a rough but interesting mug like his on television.) After that, it's ten AM, so off to the gym for an hour of body maintenance.

I got home this morning around 11 and found a note from [livejournal.com profile] queen_nephthys saying that she had walked down to Werribee Plaza and for me to meet her there. She had some e-bay posting to do and wanted my help buying a USB 2 card for her PC. So we saunter down to Dick Smith Electronics, grab the card and also buy me some great new Logitech speakers for the laptop so we can use it as a DJ station at the wedding. Laptop built in speakers suck in a bad way, but these new ones are great! For picking her up and helping with the USB card, she shouted me a chai-latte ice-drink. Back home we scrounged some lunch and watched a very bad DVD rental called ICE QUEEN which has a gratuitous, but badly filmed wet t-shirt competition and a hot-tub sex scene featuring some of the ickiest looking breast implants in Christendom. Even Rectuma was better and it only cost $US8000 to make.

The afternoon and evening were quiet. [livejournal.com profile] queen_nephthys installed the PC card and we farted around uploading video from the video cam to the hard drive. I made lamb stew while [livejournal.com profile] queen_nephthys E-bayed at the Moon. Low key stuff, but I do love my Sunday morning brekkie-brew-Insiders ritual. Sometimes I add watching Tony Bourdain's No Reservations so I can kick myself for not trying that anonymous little bistro I saw below our hotel window on Cité Bergère in Paris.

Damn, these new speakers are good

By the way [livejournal.com profile] queen_nephthys is currently watching all the Christopher Eccleston episodes of Dr Who and told me not to tell anyone how much she likes them in case someone thinks she's some kind of fan girl.
