queen_nephtys and my sister Linda some serious eye candy. They're inside, drinking vodka and bourbon respectively, watching foxtel and checking out the workmen. I had to get the socket set out to take the clothes line down from the side of the house so that the tent would fit.
Spent the morning taking Linda to the super cool Indian Spice Shop over near the railway line. The heady smell of curry and spices fills the place. For some reason only apparent to Indian spice shop owners, they had cans of Lemon and Paeroa (the national soft drink of New Zealand) in the fridge, so we scored three cans of that, a lot of really cheap, really fragrant incense and a double-movie Tamil bollywoodish DVD I haven't watched yet. Total cost: $11 something.
Also did some last minute shopping, bought a tank of helium for the balloons and put Jack the Cat into the cat hotel for the duration. He complained bitterly about this, but quelle dommage, dude. Better a fortnight in stir than starving to death while we honeymoon in NZ. I also backed up a lot of mp3s and avi files onto DVD to clear some hard drive space on the older laptop. From here on in, it gets hectic.
