Two bits of news. One small and one big.
The small one is something
queen_nephthys sussed out. I am now in Wikipedia. Someone has put up a list of Ditmar Award nominees and winners, and I'm there. Oddly, this tickles me. I'm on the increasingly large and diverse global database of stuff. Kewl.
The other one, I didn't know twenty minutes ago. My sister Sandie called from Brisbane. She told me today that she's getting married up there. This evening she called to ask me if I'd escort her down the aisle. I said yes immediately, and I'm glad I did. Neither Sandie nor I know if our genetic father is alive or not and while I don't know how she feels about it, I only have a mild curiosity about whether he's above or below ground level. Brian, her stepfather and my Mum's husband, died a while back, so I am, to use an archaic term, the male head of the family. That's a weird place for me to be and will probably take a little mental adjustment to wrap my self-image around it. I'm delighted that I was asked and whenever the wedding is, it will be a chance to explore Brisbane a little and reacquaint myself with my nieces. (I've only been to the airport.)
Also,
queen_nephthys bought me a surprise present - a Swatch Irony Diaphane Firestorm to replace my ageing Swatch Millennium.
