queen_nephthys's parental units Peter and Annette were here. Something had spooked the little bugger, so he was jumping at noises. We all gave him lots of TLC and he slept a lot since then. Today is very windy which doesn't help his disposition, but he's doing okay.
Yesterday I smoked a beef roast in the Weber (mesquite, hickory and cabernet soaked oak wood chips) for dinner. Turned out terrific. There's no better way to cook large slabs of dead animal than the old Weber. Did some spuds in aluminium foil as well, which came out steamy and tender. Compliments from everyone. Left overs for lunch and dinner today. Foodie heaven.
Not much else to report. Just chilling out, going to the gym, watching The Insiders on ABC TV and Barrie Cassidy's head just keeps getting more rough and interesting. Andrew Bolt gives me the shits though, which is probably why he's there. With the ABC board stacked with the bottom feeders of conservative politics, they throw gits like him into programs. Doesn't quite work the way the connies want it to, though. Just shows how out of touch and ludicrous what passes for conservative thought is in this country.
