Le Temps - Charles Aznavour Being a big time francophile, I love this one. It was featured in the Vincent Cassel movie L'Appartment, where I first heard it. I eventually tracked down a copy a couple of years later in the Tower Records shop on Sunset Boulevard. This version has some guy's experimental video attached to it, but the music shines through the funky graphics.
Serge Gainsbourg tells Whitney Houston he wants to fuck her, on television A classic 1986 bit of television verite. Drunk celebrities should be allowed on more talk shows. It makes 'em edgier. In fact they should breathalyse celebs before they go on talk shows and if they're insufficiently tanked, they should cut to a commercial and throw a few Stoli Limons down their necks, by force if necessary. This particularly goes for the Sunday morning political shows. I'd love to see Alexander Downer shitfaced while he tries to badmouth Kevin Rudd.
The Lady From Shanghai- mirror maze scene One of the most famous bits in cinema. See the whole film if you haven't already.
And a clip from Welles' last film, the unedited and unreleased The Other Side of the Wind
