The birthday lunch at Joe's Garage went well. Jamie, Sarah, Frances, Alicia (all WNLJ) and [livejournal.com profile] queen_nepththysshowed up and good grub was had by all. Jamie and I did some programming stuff for Convergence after the meal, too. It was great to catch up with everyone and dine in style. I'm going to have to organise another barbecue, soon. Gotta keep that vibe going.

Part of the gifts was a JB-Hifi voucher, which I dutifully spent today. Living in a low-brow place like Hoppers Crossing has its' advantages. I picked up three Ingmar Bergman movies: Smiles On A Summer Night, The Virgin Spring and Wild Strawberries for five, five and three dollars each respectively! They were in the bargain bin nestled amongst the Michael Dudikoff and Jeff Fahey movies. I also got the Earthsea miniseries for ten bucks, The Deep starring Nick Nolte, Jacqueline Bisset and Robert Shaw and RKO 281, the HBO movie about the making of Citizen Kane starring Liev Schreiber as Orson Welles.

I'm a happy little DVD collector today, in spite of major hassles getting work done to replace the radio aerial on the car.
