Got to Brisvegas successfully, got sister married off successfully, halfway through the book de jour (HP.)
Other things we did
* Hit a kangaroo in the Warrumbungles with the car. It was already dead, it was night and after coming over a rise in the road there was no avoiding it. Managed to swerve slightly and run over its' head with the driver's side tyres rather than over the thicker bits. Made a bump which woke up

* Went to a steak house in Dubbo and tried to beat their challenge of eating an entree, and a main course that included a beef shank. (Beef shanks are basically full sized meaty footballs with a bone sticking out of one end). Didn't succeed by 0.25 of a beef shank and felt ill for eight hours.
*Grooved on the radio telescope in Parkes yet again.
* Spent most of the wedding time hanging out with my five nieces - all teenaged or younger. Their father is a christian cultist (more than the usual amount of Christianity) and won't let them have a bar of Harry Potter. So I did a deal where I send them copies of the movies with "The Princess Diaries 1,2,3 and 4" written on the disks so they can slide them under the paternal radar. If anyone has any second hand copies of the books that they don't want, contact me and arrange I'll mail them up to Amy, Tamsin, Elizabeth, Kathryn and Jessica. What's the use of being an uncle to five crazy girls if you can't help them disobey a parent? Their mother is cool with it, btw.
* Had brekkie with
drjon at Fat Boys in Fortitude Valley and we did a walk around there while he gave us a local history lesson. Both of us enjoyed it thoroughly, so thanks Jon. :)
*This afternoon, we cruised along South Bank eating ice-cream and prowling the craft market. Got a lapel badge that reads "Sarcasm Society - like we need your support".
* Tomorrow, Movieworld is on the agenda and I get to go on lots of crazily dangerous amusement park rides! Yeah!
*Tuesday night we'll be in Coffs Harbour, then somehow we'll wend our way back to Melbum over the next few days.
More detailed report when I can find some internet place that will let me hook up the laptop.
*Having fun in the lovely warm, t-shirt weather up here.
