EEE Its Turned Out Nice

Last night Sal shyly showed me the Officeworks catalogue that came in the mail. They had the ASUS EEE for twenty bucks less than it had been in Myer before Xmas, where they didnt have any of the bloody things anyway. We discussed the finances and lo, I am now writing this on my new little linux laptop. First impressions are good. I can read the screen well, the small keyboard isnt an issue for me and the portability makes it very tech-sexy.

I did spring for a small optical mouse because I loathe using touchpads with laptops, but theres a nice little padded slipcover to put the EEE in. Linking to the web was effortless on the home wifi and all is well. I also got a bunch of DVDs delivered from Amazon this morning. Just hope that Sals full box set of Stargate SG-1 shows up soon...

More EEE technostuff

Well I've been playing with the new laptop all day and it's going well. At the GP this morning I got some notes written for the next podcast instead of reading the same old gourmet foodie magazines they've had there since Jamie Oliver hit puberty. The EEE fits comfortably in the small triangular backpack I carry around, Open Office works well on it and now I can sit here watching my Amazon bounty of DVDs that arrived today. Like this or this or this. I've also got a bunch of books to read. All good stuff when the temperature is still in the high thirties outside.
