The day has been hot and sunny and my arms and face are browning up nicely. Sal, being paler is turning a little ruddy but we're been using sunblock. Sal and I spent part of the day today at Adelaide Zoo, grooving on the wildlife, avoiding hordes of school kids and ignoring the revhead car noises from the nearby Clipsal 500 car races. I had a great caveman moment when we were at the tiger enclosure. We both stood looking for the tiger in the undergrowth and foliage and when I spotted it sleeping beneath some branches I instinctively froze in place for a moment. Total instant motionlessness. Nice to know the old cro-magnon genes are still working well. The sound of a jaguar growling is a sound that hits you somewhere deep in the brain, too.

As usual, the meerkats were wonderfully cute, the flamingoes elegant and the sea-lions torpid.

After the Zoo we cruised up get some lunch in Port Adelaide at a cafe called Scuzzi where the pizza oven was on the fritz, then north to look around Port Adelaide and sip coffee in a cafe built into a converted dockside warehouse. It's our last day in Adelaide. Tomorrow it's off to Mildura for a couple of days then to home. Both of us are chilling out and I've found a few more books to buy. Not bad.
