This is among the seven stupidest things I've heard of this week. ""Someone's making a lot of money and it's really, really wrong," added Twyman, who founded the Prayer at the Pump movement to seek help from a higher power to bring down fuel prices, because the powers in Washington haven't."

World Movies Channel on Foxtel, apart from being a good channel with quality flicks, has a cool website with competitions. I entered the Mothers Day one and won 5 DVDs my mother would never watch. (She likes Westerns and Musicals). The DVDs are Miss Potter, The Queen, La Vie En Rose/La Môme, Death At A Funeral and Once. Not a bad lot of films, really. I'll keep most of them and send her Miss Potter and The Queen. Already sent her two John Wayne flicks for M-Day.

La Môme is mine, definitely. Sal and I visited Piaf's grave in Paris. It's not far from Francoise Truffaut's in Pere Lachaise Cemetery and people leave stuffed toys at the graveside because she liked them. The French like doing that. They leave lipstick kisses on Oscar Wilde's memorial and metro tickets at Serge Gainsbourg's.

But I digress. I love winning DVDs. That way I can get them without Sal reminding me that I shouldn't spend so much money... :-)

Over at Paleocinema I have a Youtube Marathon of 1960s Eurospy movie trailers. I love this genre of exploitation movies. There's a great combination of entertainment and retro grooviness to them. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
