World Movies Channel on Foxtel, apart from being a good channel with quality flicks, has a cool website with competitions. I entered the Mothers Day one and won 5 DVDs my mother would never watch. (She likes Westerns and Musicals). The DVDs are
Miss Potter,
The Queen, La Vie En Rose/La Môme,
Death At A Funeral and
Once. Not a bad lot of films, really. I'll keep most of them and send her Miss Potter and The Queen. Already sent her two John Wayne flicks for M-Day.
La Môme is mine, definitely. Sal and I visited Piaf's grave in Paris. It's not far from Francoise Truffaut's in Pere Lachaise Cemetery and people leave stuffed toys at the graveside because she liked them. The French like doing that. They leave lipstick kisses on Oscar Wilde's memorial and metro tickets at Serge Gainsbourg's.
But I digress. I love winning DVDs. That way I can get them without Sal reminding me that I shouldn't spend so much money... :-)
