Just a brief note - Got a call from my sister Linda this morning. I told her what I was going through and what was happening and she immediately offered to fly down from Sydney to help. I declined because she's been through a lot looking after Mum, but I felt very loved when she made the offer.

Thanks to everyone who has sent LJ messages of support. It helps and it helps a lot. Life, as Louis Jordan once said, is so peculiar. At the moment it's a day by day thing, too.

I did watch some movies. Jumper which is meh, mainly because the protagonist is an arsehole played by an actor who has all the charisma and charm of someone else's fart. (Hayden Christiansen - who turned Darth Vader into a shrill Mummy's boy.)It also features one of Samuel L. Jackson's weirder wigs - it's kinda the black version of Doc Savage's hairdo in a James Bama painting. We enjoyed Croc, a low budget movie filmed in Thailand which has some cool croc attack scenes and stars Michael Madsen at his most laconic. Nice scenery, lots of crocodilia and a New Zealand tourist gets eaten, too.

Dragon Wars was a weird flick. Any times humans spoke in it, it was dull, but the dragons and other miscellaneous lizards were extremely cool. Fantastic special effects but the scriptwriters needed retraining, perhaps as supermarket checkout operators. The chinese dragon was particularly groovy, too.

I'll post again soon.
