I'm currently sitting in a motel room in Warrnambool, chilling out and digesting fajitas and a creme de menthe margarita. We decided that we needed a break from hassles and tensions, so this morning we hit the road, motoring through cold rain squalls and a sea of moronic drivers down the Hamilton Highway to the Bool.
Down here it was sunny and warm. Never, ever go to the Car Park Cafe here. The coffee tastes like phenyl mixed with dog shit. After a pub lunch we drove down to Port Fairy for afternoon tea and a decent short black. I picked up a couple of groovy 1960s crime novels at an op shop for 20 cents each and some DVDs of the 1950s British Sherlock Holmes tv series for two bucks each at Go-Lo. We also spent some time on the breakwater, watching the waves bash against concrete and just hanging with the wonders of nature. Ah the simple pleasures.
