It's the coldest day in Melbourne for 20 years. The Dandenongs and Mount Macedon are covered in sago and Jack the Cat has only ventured outdoors to shit in the neighbours' yards before heading back to the couch. Smart moggie. I'm glad I only ventured out to go to the gym today. The rest of the day was spent watching DVDs for the podcast and taking part in [livejournal.com profile] cherylmmorgan's liveblogging of the Hugo ceremony.

One of the weird things I'm discovering about the podcast is that the more I research an old movie, the more interesting stuff I discover about it. There are levels of history to which I can drill using a combination of ninja-goggle skills, my reference library and serendipitous discovery. It doesn't matter much what the movie is, as long as it's old enough to predate the hardened spin doctoring of modern Hollywood. There's always something very cool to discover if you look at it from the right angle. I love it!
