I reckon an American Dad film would be even better, but that's already about as subversive as you're likely get on a free-to-air network.
Banaceck: great fun show, and I recall reading an interview with Edward D. Hoch, mondern master of the impossible crime story, where he said he supplied them with detailed plots. If you like that sort of story, his Nick Velvet stories show those types of crimes from the thief's POV. Nick Velvet has been under continuous TV option since the 70s and at one point Timothy Dalton was going to do it, which would have been perfect casting. Oh well.
I agree about the American Dad movie. It would be great fun, especially if Roger the Alien gets something subversive to do.
Banacek only went two seasons for a very odd reason. George Peppard didn't want his ex wife, Elizabeth Ashley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0039051/) to get any more aliomony money so he quit.
